We selected one of our favorite stops for afternoon coffee and sweets, Andersen’s Danish Bakery & Restaurant on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Upon entering, we were offered a taste of a couple of their delectable treats at the counter. Yum! Just enough to peak your interest and leave you wanting more. We have dined there for breakfast before and really enjoyed our meal. Today we stopped in for cappuccino and sweets. Not sure what they do to create such light, thick milk foam on the cappuccino, but it was beautiful and delicious. I selected a Kransekager which is a cookie with pure marzipan all the way through, baked and lightly drizzled with frosting. Being a huge marzipan fan, I was in cookie heaven!
We also chose a slice of creamy cheesecake topped with assorted berries and served on a bed of raspberry sauce which is so fresh and fruity tasting, you may want to lick the plate!
The service there was impeccable; prompt and courteous. I highly suggest you stop in some time for a meal or simply coffee and a treat!
